Hierarchical catalogs

Create, organize and publish items, using hierarchical lists of items — an excellent feature for e-commerce sites or catalogued items of any kind. Such catalogs can contain many different kinds of content, each with its own set of properties. When adding items, the CMS automatically generates forms so you can edit their descriptions. It also allows you to create dynamic representations of items based on characteristics, such as top-ten sales lists, detailed information on products, and so on.

Give your site the power to recognize a user’s country and serve up the appropriate language version. Web server always returns valid headers, optimizing your site for search engines. All dynamic pages are also cached for quick loading, and compressed for modern browsers.

Intelligent caching

To enhance its performance, Twilight CMS automatically deletes only pages updated by an administrator from the admin zone. By contrast, other CMS’s typically flush the entire cache, including all pages, whenever any small change is performed. In our current version, our cache effectiveness is up to 99%, meaning that only 1% of page requests must be rebuilt from scratch upon request; the rest come straight from the cache. The CMS also stores an internal database of site searches and file downloads, which can be accessed by users.

Superior performance

All system data is compressed while the site is being edited. The CMS features a three-level system cache, which greatly enhances performance by storing 99% of hits in the cache. In addition, all algorithms for searches, additions, and updates are the same as in a relational DBMS.

External system connections

Experienced web developers can add any type of functionality using any available language. This functionality can be located at any server. Perl programmers can also add their own procedures to a special file to add custom functionality to the site.
